Mr. Espinosa was completing both a BS in Human Factors Psychology and a MS in Human Factors and Systems. He stated that he was surprised when was notified that he had won and grateful that he was recognized at the BCPE reception. Upon hearing more about Dieter W. Jahns and what the practitioner award was meant to represent, he said "I feel truly honored; it's great to see how the Foundation for Professional Ergonomics is willing to support and motivate students in our field." Mr. Espinosa won the award for his concept design project for a men's public urinal with a built-in hand sanitation system.
